Maintenance Lead 
Position: Maintenance Lead Summit Camps is recruiting for workforce camp-based positions. Primary Role: The Maintenance Lead will carry out all aspects of maintenance in a remote camp. This includes, but is not limited to - small plumbing repairs, heater repairs, kitchen appliance maintenance and repairs, roof maintenance and leak repairs, small construction and construction maintenance. Qualifications: Valid Class 5 Drivers License with clean drivers abstract WHMIS and First Aid Level 1 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with camp maintenance, or similar role Forklift operation certification an asset Fall Arrest certification an asset Supervisory experience Computer skills an asset Experience with inventory and ordering procedures, and staying within a set budget Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment and work/live in a drug and alcohol free camp environment for up to 4 weeks at a time. Personal Attributes Skills: Flexible, 'whatever it takes' attitude Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Capable of working independently with minimal supervision Strong supervisory skills Excellent organization and time management skills Must be able to lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs Good physical stamina; capable of working long hours on your feet Must be able to live in a remote camp environment for up to 4 weeks at a time working 12-hour shifts Responsibilities Include: Communicate with Operations Manager regarding supplies, repairs, and upcoming large maintenance Coordinate with trades to ensure all necessary repairs and maintenance by sub trades is coordinated in an efficient and cost effective manner Able to safely use and maintain various small construction tools such as drills, skill saws, reciprocating saws, table saws, small hand tools etc. Responsible for ensuring the continued operation and up to date maintenance of the water system, wastewater system, electrical, propane, heating and air conditioning within the camp as necessary in conjunction with requested sub trades (electrical and mechanical) Supervise, manage, train, mentor, and direct Maintenance Assistants Implement Summit s Safety Management System Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors regarding any product or delivery issues Maintain costing within guidelines and report maintenance material inventory and costing Please submit your application online at: www.summitcamps.ca/listings (1155642h)
